About Reiki

Picture

A Reiki session is one more way to care for yourself and/or your precious companion - body, mind, and spirit.
Reiki is a simple, natural, safe method of holistic healing that everyone can benefit from: people and animals. Reiki supports the body’s own innate ability to heal. It is a very relaxing and stress-free modality that offerss physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual support.
Reiki can help soothe physical ailments, ease emotional stress or trauma, clear energetic blockages, and restore inner peace and balance.

Reiki with people uses a very light touch or, if needed, can be done with no touch. It is also your animal’s choice whether Reiki is performed hands-on or hands-off. You can expect a quiet, respectful meditative space. For people, this space is on a massage table where you're fully clothed (minus shoes), whereas an the animal is free to move about as he chooses. Often, the animal falls asleep. Sometimes people do, too.

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR ANIMALS
We usually meet in a room where the animal is comfortable. Dogs and cats are unrestrained and always free to move within the room, and horses in the pasture. Because animals tend to experience energy more strongly than people, it can get intense and they need to move away. It is always the animal’s choice whether Reiki is performed hands on or hands off. They often yawn and fall asleep, then walk away when they are done. I sit on the floor, meditate, and am simply a conduit for universal energy to flow through. It is not my energy. Reiki goes where it is needed, and animals are very good at knowing what they need. Please do your best to set aside any expectations for a session.

Like A+ Petsitting’s other services, I come to you! This way the dog/cat/horse can stay in the comfort of his/her home, isn’t distracted by new smells, and can continue to relax after the session. I work with you to make your space very calm and soothing. I ask that tv be turned off and use special music on my phone, if that’s ok. Pet-parents are invited to hang out and receive “second-hand” Reiki too!

AFTER TREATMENT
People and dogs should drink more water. This helps to further flush out anything that needs to be released. Be mindful that your pup may have to go outside to potty more often.
